Ellie Jane Goulding is a British citizen born on the 30th of December 1986. Tracey Goulding Summers was her mother. Arthur Goulding belonged to a family of undertakers. Goulding, the second born member of the family is the older sibling of Isabel and an older sister called Jordan. Alex is her elder brother who plays bass with an Hereford group. As a child her mother advised her to be an artist. She began learning to play the clarinet when she was age nine. At 14, she started to compose her first songs however she didn't start seriously writing songs until her college days. Goulding developed an interest in electronic music when she was taking classes. On MySpace Goulding had a relationship with Frankmusik who was the producer of records and together they created their own style of folktronica.
